Cryotherapy As Cancer Treatment
Currently, cryogenics is being used to treat prostate cancer in men. Cryotherapy, as this treatment is known, works by freezing the tissue inside the prostate gland, finally destroying it and the cancer along with it.
Recent data shows that one in six Americans are affected by this type of cancer, and since this treatment is minimally invasive and causes very little pain, it is gaining momentum among prostate cancer patients and the medical community in general.
The procedure involves the insertion of a series of tiny needles into the prostate gland. Once the needles are properly lodge inside the gland through the skin, Argon gas will be infused into the prostate gland through those needles. Argon gas is extremely cold and will cause the gland's internal tissue to reach - 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The procedure is done twice to ensure that all the cancerous cells are destroyed in the process.
As with most prostate cancer treatments, cryotherapy has its side effects, such as a high incidence of impotence due to the collateral freezing of the nerves near and around the prostate gland. This type of erectile dysfunction could affect the patient on a temporary basis, or it can be permanent. However, in both cases, it can be treated with generic Viagra.
Cryotherapy is not really a new thing. Actually, it's been used with prostate cancer patients since the 1950's. However, the lack of good imaging equipment has kept cryotherapy in the back burner for decades. With the arrival of good imaging technology, cryotherapy came back strong when dealing with localized cancers procedures. And the ED side effects can be easily countered by ordering ED medication from an
online pharmacy, something that was not possible 20 years ago either.
Cryotherapy treatment is ideal for patients who cannot undergo traditional surgical procedures because of their advanced age or suffer from highly risky physical conditions, such as heart disease, or hypertension.
